How to Reach Fuvahmulah: Travel via Sri Lanka and Addu Atoll

While the most common way to reach Fuvahmulah is through a 1.5-hour domestic flight from Malé, an alternative route offers a more scenic and relaxing journey. By connecting through Colombo, Sri Lanka, and flying into Seenu Gan International Airport, you can enjoy a smooth and easy transfer to Fuvahmulah.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of traveling from Colombo to Fuvahmulah, providing essential tips to ensure your journey is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Step 1: Fly from Colombo to Gan (Addu Atoll)

Your journey begins with SriLankan Airlines flight UL119 departing from Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. The flight typically leaves at 12:20 PM and arrives at Seenu Gan International Airport in just 1 hour and 50 minutes. This short international hop offers stunning aerial views as you approach the southernmost atoll of the Maldives.

Step 2: Transfer from Gan to Feydhoo Island

Once you've cleared customs at Seenu Gan, make your way to the Feydhoo Island RTL departure jetty, just a 10-minute ride away. From there, you'll board the RTL Ferry for the next leg of your journey to Fuvahmulah, offering a quick and scenic transfer to this incredible destination.

The taxi fare from Gan to Feydhoo Island is approximately $10, making it an affordable and convenient transfer to the RTL departure jetty for your ferry to Fuvahmulah.

Step 3: Board the RTL Ferry to Fuvahmulah

The RTL ferry departs from Feydhoo at 4:00 PM and takes you directly to Fuvahmulah, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular views of the Maldivian waters during the ride.

Important Notes

  • Check Schedules: Flight and ferry schedules may change, so it’s essential to confirm the departure times of both the SriLankan Airlines flight and the RTL ferry before finalizing your plans.
